MiataSpeed and SakeBomb Garage are proud to offer our signature RZ+ Forged Wheel – a tribute to an iconic era of automotive wheel design, built for today. Inspired by the legendary factory optional wheels from some of the most iconic special edition JDM icons - the Mazda RX-7 RZ, the Acura NSX Zanardi Edition, and of course the Subaru 22B - we’ve brought back this legendary wheel design, with a modern twist.
We started our design study with a set of our original RZ wheels which we imported from Japan. They look great, but unfortunately in the case of all of these legendary JDM special editions, the wheels just aren't wide enough and the fitment isn't quite right to run a wider tire. We wanted to fix that. We started with a 3D scan to set a baseline, then reengineered the spoke architecture and mesh design. We were able to further optimize our CAD design for increased strength and reduced weight due to the inherent strength benefits of utilizing a forged wheel.
Our wheels are CAD optimized for fitment and durability and fully forged from premium aluminum, offering exceptional strength without the weight penalty. Forged under 10,000 tons of pressure to give you a wheel that is the ultimate lightweight to strength ratio, all of our wheels are durability tested according to JWL standards. We’ve also optimized the sizing to allow for larger tires while fitting within the stock fenders, ensuring a wider stance for improved grip and handling. With a hub-centric design and load ratings tailored to specific chassis, these wheels are built to perform.
To keep your tires firmly in place under heavy braking and acceleration, we’ve incorporated knurled bead seats. We've also ensured that the wheels will clear all of SakeBomb Garage & MiataSpeed’s upgradeable big brake kits, including our entire range of AP Competition and Wilwood setups big brake kit setups, as well as our range of FPSpec suspension kits. And for that finishing touch, our color-matched center caps ensure a seamless look.
Exclusively manufactured by FPSpec for SakeBomb Garage & MiataSpeed, these wheels are the perfect blend of OEM+ and modern design - and we haven't found a chassis they don't look great on. More fitments coming soon.
